Summary
Apologizing for the delay in his response; concerning a project of Knight's: "Let me thank you very cordially for the opportunity of helping to realize your excellent project which, as you say, would I am sure have had my father's warmest sympathy. You are most welcome to my name and, when the time comes, I will gladly contribute to the fund"; concerning critical writing on his parents' work: mentioning that he thinks Edward Dowden's book on his father is admirable, that Benjamin Jowett's letters "must be interesting to those who may care to have some idea of my father's life in his youth and learn what opinion his friends had of him," and that Percy Lubbock's selection of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's letters is "a happy one and the concluding narrative excellent, although I confess to not agreeing with all his criticism"; adding "I may say that I never saw these books before they were in print"; concluding "I wish I could show you Asolo some day! The place is unchanged and as 'sparkling' and 'delicious' as when my father loved it!"
