Summary
Apologizing for "the delay which has arisen in your letter reaching me, owing to some blunder and my having been obliged, quite unexpectedly, to return to Italy, but not to Asolo, from here"; writing that he hopes his own letter reaches Knight in time and that Knight will come to see them in Venice; asking Knight to let him know approximately when he will arrive; adding "What you say about the Letters is most gratifying" (possibly referring to The Letters of Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Barrett: 1845-1846, edited by Robert Barrett Browning, published in London by Smith, Elder & Co., 1900).
