Summary
Apologizing for the delay in his response to Knight's letter; referring Knight to Smith, Elder, and Co. to discuss a selection of Robert Browning's poems that Knight has proposed assembling and publishing: "I should like to say that I am acting according to my father's agreement with them, to which he strictly adhered himself and which I feel bound to follow. I need not add that I am sure a selection would be full of interest if made by such hands as yours"; thanking Knight for his invitation and tendering one in return: "On the other hand, should you come to this part of Italy and we were here or in Venice, (Palazzo Rezzonico) please remember what pleasure a visit from you would give my aunt as well as myself."
