Summary
Being Jarry's will, written in the third person as the testament of Père Ubu and dictated while he was very ill and staying with his sister in Laval; describing his medical condition in detail; reminding the reader that he is not writing this testament in a fever; describing items which he is bequeathing to Rachilde and Vallette and asking that they pray for him; saying that he dictated to his sister a detailed plan for a new book which he offers to her to do with as she wishes, to finish herself or in a posthumous collaboration; adding that his sister will send her the manuscript; saying he is ready to die and believes his brain, even in decomposition, will work beyond his death; adding two postscripts, each signed with his initials, the first of which has been crossed through in which he tells her that a letter dictated the previous day is almost a duplicate of this one and in the 2nd he tells her that the doctor has just come and believes he can save him.
