Summary
Thanking him for his note and telling him she will "...certainly keep Sellars on at St Andrews for the Summer Session, in the great hope that he will be able to help himself out by winning a more substantial Bursary shortly - It would be a great thing for him to gain this independence of me, which is the true beginning of a young man's life[.] He is really a nice lad - refined & well disposed & will be nice looking too by & bye & I hope he will be able to fit himself for a good Social position - he has been with me since he was 5 years old, & I am very much attached to the lad, knowing well his stirling qualities[.] Lord Breadalbane says he hopes you will let us know when you go to Kenmore, so that he may arrange for your fishing there, also I hope you will let us know when you come to London, that we may make sure of the pleasure of seeing you."
