Thanking him for his interest "...in the lad Sellars. He is an exceedingly good lad & full of work - he does not appear Brilliant but has a good deal of useful intelligence & is likely to do well - I am personally very fond of him & can speak honestly of his merits - I have sent on your kind message to him anent any difficulties he may have - & it will be a great help to him to feel he has someone to turn to;" saying she hopes to be in St Andrews soon.
