Summary
Writing to say that he saw a notice pertaining to Hewlett in the Times and that he would have made inquiries earlier if it hadn't been for the stress of the season; going on to add that he wishes that Hewlett lived closer to him and wondering if they will both continue to reside in their respective locations ("Are you always going to live on that nankeen coloured lawn at Oaklands?-or am I always going to live the cruel life of a penny-a-liner in London?").
