Summary
Concerning his poor health and low spirits, his enjoyment of his recent stay in Scarborough, current work on a second collection of the letters of Mary Russell Mitford, preparation of his own memoirs ("There are things that I fell I ought to put on record-especially as I have destroyed a large correspondence"); remarking on Hewlett's current work for the poetry anthology entitled "Vers de societe", stating that he is "behind hand with all periodicals-not even having read up the 'Athenaeum'! My time for them seems to be over", and that he will be giving a dinner for his "theatrical friends", Mr. and Mrs. Bancroft, (Mlle Marie Wilton) and Mr. Hare, which Hewlett is welcome to attend.
