Summary
Thanking him for his kind letter and expressing how much pleasure it gave him; saying he had " just received Murray's list and was delighted to see how active in mind you are. I have sent for Monboddo and I hear it is most interesting;" relating how extensively he quoted from Wordsworth in his Christmas Day sermon and adding that after the sermon one of his parishioners said "I see there is life in the Dean yet as he can quote Wordsworth;" commenting on the death of Bishop Creighton and suggesting that on his next visit "...you must look at his privately printed sketch of Sir George Grey;" adding "Our Bishop and I have been in a very friendly [illegible] with our non conformist brethren here and we are to have a meeting of a brotherly kind soon;" asking when he will visit again.
