Summary
Concerning a book that he does not have, suggesting that the Bishop may have a copy and noting "The preface has been reprinted in Browning Soc'ty Papers but I have lost my copy or lent it to some one who has not returned it. I have a nasty cold which has kept me from London where I ought to be. We are much cumbered by Lord Halifax & his not wise [illegible] who seem, some at least, bent on mischief. Do you know that the Soc'ty for Promoting X'n Knowledge has brought out a complete Wordsworth which subscribers get at 2/9 a really nice book;" adding, in a postscript, "We are having a cold, dismal summer here. I hope it is fine at St. Andrews. I am disappointed in Andrew Lang's Scotch History."
