Summary
Thanking him for a book which he believes will have a "grand success;" saying he meant to tell him that while he was with him but "remembered after you were gone. It is quite true what some one says of the things one ought to have preached 'L'eloquence d'escalier!' adding that he had spoken with a Bishop whose edition of the Vulgate was to come out in parts and saying "It is a wonderful labour & I often think it hardly worth the trouble but he is sanguinal that a [illegible] text is to do something considerable."
