Confirming that his painting should appear in the exhibition catalog as "Portrait of Miss Tatlock"; regretting to hear that the recipient has been suffering in the recent weather and informing her that a recent stay in Brighton with his brother "was beneficial only to myself", despite being "prolonged to six weeks ... as we were tempted to try a celebrated rubber who performs wonders and did nothing for us"; sending his regards to Mrs. Tatlock and noting tha "we have heard nothing of the exhibition and have seen nothing but Webster's picture "A play ground".
