Summary
Explaining the summary of accounts which he is enclosing with this letter; saying that he sees nothing in the accounts with which the Duke may find fault except for "...the champagne wine & the other things my Lords give to their friends who visit them: But besides it is unavoidable in a country where such a custom is Introduced; They visit only sober persons of Quality, & receive visits from no others; so that there's never any excess committed amongst them. As to the Apothecary's bill, which concerns specially My Lord Peregrine, his Lordship has received so much benefit by, that he's at present free from a sharp humour which broke frequently in his hands, & kept him sometimes several days from his exercises;" adding that the boys will each write to him next week.
