The letter is double-dated July 13 / 24, 1708.
Louis Berard was hired by the Duke of Leeds to tutor his grandsons William Henry Osborne, Earl of Danby (1690-1711) and Peregrine Hyde Osborne, Viscount Dunblane (1691-1731). He provided weekly accounts of the education of the two boys in this collection of letters.

Summary
Informing the Duke that the Marchioness (the boys' mother, Bridget Osborne) and her daughters, Mary and Bridget, have arrived safely in Rotterdam, where they were met by Berard and the two boys; telling him that they intend to set out for Utrecht the next day; writing that he will keep him informed about their visit, and also about the ongoing military campaigns and the consequences of the allies' victory at the battle of Oudenarde (see MA 4644.61).
