Address panel with seal and postmark to "His Grace the Duke / of Leeds at his house / in Holborn / England London." Holborn and London have been crossed through and replaced with "Wimbleton" [sic].

The letter is double-dated April 18 / 29, 1707.
Louis Berard was hired by the Duke of Leeds to tutor his grandsons William Henry Osborne, Earl of Danby (1690-1711) and Peregrine Hyde Osborne, Viscount Dunblane (1691-1731). He provided weekly accounts of the education of the two boys in this collection of letters.

Summary
Reporting that on the second day of their visit to Amsterdam Lord Peregrine missed a step and fell on his left hip; adding that he seemed to be able to walk well but he called in a doctor to look at Lord Peregrine and the doctor confirmed that there was no major injury; returning the following day the doctor "...found his Patient so well that he has discharged himself of further attendance, & gave us leave to return to Utrecht, which we intend to do to morrow or next day;" adding that Lord Peregrine has written to tell his mother of the incident.
