In a letter written two years earlier (MA 1664.1) Bennett tells Kauffer "I should be delighted to have No. 1. of 'Don Quixote'; but I do not think that you ought to give it to me. My intention was to buy it."
Kauffer provided twenty-one color plates to a two-volume edition of Don Quixote published in London by Nonesuch Press in 1930.
