Summary
Informing EBB that if she has decided to contribute poems to Graham's Magazine, then she can draw on Wiley & Putnam in Paternoster Row for £10 immediately; mentioning that he had sent the parcel he referred to in his last letter (see MA 8917.46) through Wiley & Putnam, and also that his letter was accidentally sent on the "Stephen Whitney" packet instead of the Britannia Steamer; commenting on Graham's Magazine: "I have asked you to write for Graham's Mage not because I regard it as by any means the highest medium through which good Poetry should reach the world--but with the hope that its circulation, which is very great, might extend your reputation in this country & because I had a notion that even so trifling a tribute as you would get in the way of money, might be looked upon as a levy from one of the Provinces, having so much of grandeur even in its smallness"; adding in a postscript that she should be wary about appeals from other American magazines for her poetry, as "some of these have character & some NOT."
