Summary
Thanking her for her reply; mentioning that, despite her stated objection to having it included in her list of works, her translation of Prometheus Bound first brought her name to public attention and so "it will be necessary, perhaps, to say that you did publish a volume of translations:--but this shall be precisely as you please"; asking if she minds if he quotes Leigh Hunt's praise of her work; asking for her date and place of birth; adding that he is pleased to hear there will be an American edition of her Poems: "The TransAtlantic vendors are not particular what sort of prose they reprint (--ex: gr: my own 'Titian,' which they crammed into a 3 penny pamphlet) but, and I know America well, they will not republish any poems except they have reason to think well of them. A novel will go off in Thousands, but it is the merit of the poems, & not the curiosity of the public, which carries off a volume of verse, in the Western World."
