Writing to say that he has little knowledge of Dr. [Friedrich] Loss of Dorchester, "except from Wood, who by the passage in his Athenae there referred to (and I recollect no other bearing on the subject), seems to have possessed, or had access to, the old Dr's 'Notebook,' and quotes a line in Latin from it."; and suggesting that the recipient inquire at the Bodleian Library for the location of Loss's notebook.
