Thanking him for his kind letter and his sympathy; saying "One sometimes wonders why one must live through so many years of life's pilgrimage - when one longs that it might be done with;" saying she is sorry he has not heard back from the lawyer "but he may be corresponding with my husband or making further enquiries as to where the box of letters is : & he is dilatory in answering me often, I am afraid;" saying that she would glad to see him again,"...though there is very much sadness too in seeing & talking to those who are connected with the days when Coleorton was still honoured & loved - & where my dear Uncle upheld its name & traditions - I am afraid my letters must seem to you very morbid - but I find it very difficult to write or think at all hopefully about anything now;" expressing her hope that he will hear from the lawyer.
