Acknowledging a letter informing him that he is to be granted a further advance of £1000 "on account of the Hopetoun Monument", and explaining that his statue is taking longer to complete than one by Mr. [Francis] Chantrey owing to the fact that the latter's statue of the late king was a copy of a statue at Windsor, whereas his is an original composition.
