Summary
Consulting with George on repairs to EBB's monument in the English Cemetery in Florence; telling him that the designer of it, Frederic Leighton, is averse to the idea of substituting black marble for the original white marble in the places where it needs fixing; asking George's advice on this, as he (RB) has never seen the monument in person; mentioning that Wilson has gone insane and suffers from delusions; writing that she accused Isa Blagden of helping women to seduce her husband, Ferdinando Romagnoli, and that she asks RB for money; sending news of Pen's great progress in studying painting in Antwerp under Jean-Arnould Heyermans: "Millais came to see his pictures last week, and said all we could hope or wish"; writing that he bought a small painting by Millais; sending best new year's wishes.
