Summary
Discussing the timing of the publication of "Dead Pan;" saying he would like to quote from it but would not do so before her volume is out; discussing, at length, his opinions of Mr. Chorley whom he recently met; adding, in a postscript, that he is thinking of going to Germany or Spain and would like to call on her before he leaves; adding, in a second postscript, "But going to Spain or Germany for a few months must be 'a good' - more especially if it extorts an interview previously with the Lady in the Iron Mask. If the instant I entered, you vanished, and left only a large Indian shawl quivering upon the sofa - I should say (taking my breath) 'I thought as much!"
