Summary
Concerning her suggestions for mottoes for several authors included in his book; commenting on them, asking about the source of a quotation she has used, and asking for mottoes for several women writers and "...for your Ladyship's own muse. Mind - the last must be a good one - the best you can think of, or it will do me no sort of service. Modesty will defeat me. I want the good motto, I ask. Now, do think. (Impromptu) - On firewings tow'rds my God! It must be not less than that. But try to find one;" adding a request for her to keep their communications secret "...lest we be thought 'to confer too deeply."
