Thanking him for a copy of the Gentleman's [magazine] and informing him that he has wriiten a rejoinder to "Sylvanus" which it appear in the Academy; noting that Mr. Howard read him a proposed article to which he has suggested some changes and which he believes his recipient may feel worth publishing; informing him that the play based on Caine's novel The deemster [entitled "Ben-My-Chree"] is being "withdrawn for the summer", and that he hears that "it does not make money".
