Asking if they could send him back his copy of the three volume edition of his novel The deemster, as he was "working on it for the play"; asking to be notified when the one volume edition of the book is eady; offering to send him quotes from various positive reviews to employ in advertising the book; suggesting that they make mention of the play of the story, "introducing Wilson Barrett's name", and publish "a whole column of the Athenaeum ... giving all the short quotations which will appear on the fly leaf of the cheaper edition"; noting that the book should help the play and vice vera, as "the success of the book & the play ought to go together."
