Watt; noting that a German periodical is interested in printing one of his novels, and that the Christian world will agree to purchasing one if he take out "all the 'big letter D's & one or two naughty words", informing him that the people at the London Library have told him that they receive repeated requests for his novel The deemster, but that they are "not allowed to take a novel when it is quite new".
