Summary
Informing them that he leaving for Scotland for a few weeks and would like to settle arrangements with them for the publication of his new novel, Son of Hagar; noting that the serialized story has been very popular, that he has views regarding the form of the book's publication which he would like to discuss with them, that it is incomplete in its present version and needs to be partially rewritten; he proposes to bring them the sheets for the book and hopes that they will like it and advertise it effectively, as he wants it to "do as much as it possibly can for my reputation", noting additionally that "the serial rights of a novelist ... depend largely on what show he makes when his work is presented in book shape."
