Summary
Conveying Thomas Denman's "love & duty" to his mother, father, sisters, and friends; commenting that Thomas is learning to write and will soon be able to write by himself "a pretty letter in return for all those you have sent him"; mentioning how glad they are that the warm weather has returned, both because of Thomas's enjoyment in "watching the growth of plants & flowers" but also because it may help him get over a persistent cough; asking whether he has had the "hooping cough"; mentioning also that she is concerned that the cough may have another source: "He has a trick of eating the most out of the way & dirty things you can conceive of, such as soot, & I have more than once spoken to him about it, but I think a letter from you would greatly contribute to strengthen any remonstrances. I the rather mention it as perhaps the Dr may think it a sign of worms, tho he has no want of appetite for proper eatables"; writing that she is very sorry that they did not celebrate Thomas's birthday in February, because she was not sure what day it was exactly; sending her and her husband's compliments.
