Summary
Explaining that he has been in attendance on the King at Balmoral for the past week; responding to the idea of a collection of his principal speeches; explaining, however, that there is already a volume of his speeches on fiscal questions in preparation; commenting that "[t]he collection of them has brought home to me the fact that I have stated and re-stated my views upon this subject during the last five and twenty years more times than I care to think of! They will, I think, at all events, shew that my views are not open to the charge of inconsistency"; promising to send Knight a copy of the book when it is published.
