Summary
Reminding Knight that he no longer has any "authority or influence in dealing with Scotch appointments", but that he is willing to convey to Lord Lothian (Secretary of State for Scotland and Vice-President of the Scottish Education Department) his view of the services that Knight has rendered to the fields of philosophy and literature; informing Knight that he has already expressed to the Lord his "very high estimate" of George Saintsbury's knowledge of English literature.
