Summary
Thanking him for his gift; saying that she had written to him a few days before but had been away and "...when I returned & tried to read my letter & could not I decided to try again & write a legible one. First I appreciated so much your gift & have read one story so far - I Wanna Woman - some how I can't understand why people should be really pathetic beasts! & I want to talk to you about it. But I want to talk about a lot of things & am hoping we shall meet soon. - Why no news from you & your Eileen?;" adding "It's a pity about the play - but its not off yet so we must not despair. I seem ungrateful but I am not - & do appreciate your friendship & your book & your [illegible] - we will never get any where until we get a better understanding of God."
