Summary
The auction catalog states that "Lady Astor chides O'Casey for declining an invitation to Cliveden;" saying "All is forgiven... We return to Cliveden Jan 5....It's right to love your neighbours - So, make up your mind - to that as a New Year resolution. Never have I wasted my time with giddy luncheons - you come & see - Anyhow don't read on the floor again. I could have lent you a perfect little cottage with electric light - your wife would have liked it. The more I see of politics the less I believe or care about them."
