Summary
Telling Robert Acciaioli that he received his letter from the 23rd of the past month, and afterwards arrived news of the truce of our Lord with the Spanish; saying that he was never summoned by the very reverend Lord, whereas before he wanted him to come every day as a mediator and arbiter of the treaty, which has been concluded, and he thinks is being signed tomorrow, but cannot give details; reporting via the Venetian ambassador on a commission of the King following a report from the French ambassador that it is the most Christian King who is to be married, and that there will be a war in Flanders, and that he has been giving financial aid, men, and naval reinforcements among the kingdoms described; expressing that it is a question of an alternative betrothal, either with the King or with the Duke of Orléans; saying if they return without definite issue, there will be two people sent to Caesar to deal with the marriage proposals for the King and how they will deal with the two alternatives; worrying about the lack of information from various parties, including Acciaioli, and the possible interception of coded information of details; relaying that he believes it is very important that he sends his enclosures to Rome as soon as possible and commending himself to him and asking humbly to kiss the hands of the very Reverend Legate; [illegible addition written by the ambassador, added before committing the letter to post].
