Summary
Saying to his recipient that since he is unable to finance the maintenance of a galley for the Sig. Cavaliere, he must tell him frankly that the Florentine cavaliers do it for economic reasons and that when the Knights of Malta who give the money, like the family, they not only reimburse the expenses, but also sell notable advantages; saying that he remembers that he has a daughter, but that the Cavaliers told him that she wants to be a nun; stating that the fortunes made at court are rather few and that it is very difficult to secure military appointments because those the Pope has at his disposal in his state, are very scarce indeed.
