Saying to his recipient that he proposed the employment as commander of a small Pontifical galley for the Cavaliere, his son because presently there is no other vacancy, and when there is an opening for the position of a captain of a galley, there are so many candidates who are assisted by valid recommendations and qualifications (he heard for instance that Mons. Banchieri's nephew maintains at his own expense a galley in Malta and Cav. Rocca and others have two campaigns to their credit) and that, under the circumstances, he foresees difficulties - however, that he will do everything in his power to be of service.
