Summary
Saying to Marchesa Angélique Potenziani that since Caroline (her daughter?) has been in bed for the last twenty-four days, this is the first morning she is spending at home and that Caroline is lying at the inn, although all her furniture and belongings are already in her new home; telling her that Caroline's labor started prematurely, a sign of weakness, but that to her living so close and to the cooperation of Caroline's mother-in-law, she did not lack anything; adding that Caroline's husband behaved badly, as usual, and that she is surprised that Caroline, after three and a half years of marriage, has the courage to go on living with such a man; mentioning the young and beautiful Countess de Monte S'Angelo who almost died from the illness her mother suffered from, but that she was given mercury, which brought on a beneficial crisis.
