Summary
Apologizing to a friend for not answering in his own hand as he is not allowed to freely move that part of his arm, which was hurt by a recalcitrant arquebus (portable firearm) while hunting, and saying that he will, however, recover completely; also thanking him for his compassion concerning his accident and wishing him a successful conclusion of his marriage provided it is to his advantage; (in his own hand) saying that, a propos marriage, he is also charged with the task of marrying off a young lady of twenty of the Valenti family of Trevi with a dowry of 2000[?] and that, in view of the small sum and the circumstance of the Valenti's having seven sons and six daughters, a rich partner won't be found; adding that the future husband will, however, not be burdened with his bride's sisters because they are either nuns or have grown old at home.
