Summary
Saying to his recipient that every educated pen should praise the accomplishments of his mind except the dedication to her because she is insignificant and does not possess the qualities he has generously attributed to her and might generate rumors; also stating that she does know herself and that she will not let her mind be dazzled by vain pretense, while praising the products of his own mind; telling him that she appreciated the mention in the introduction and the fact that he sent it to her so that she could read it again and again; assuring that she will keep it close to her, after having it shown to his uncle, Count Giulio, in order to be able to always reread it; in the postscript, in her own hand, saying that she is very proud due to the praise he was kind enough to bestow on her for which she thanks him most sincerely.
