Concerning an application for financial assistance to Charter House; explaining that while he wishes he could offer "that Benefit to a Branch of your Family. But, circumstanc'd as I am that is wholly out of my Power. There are Claims upon me, which I could not pass over; and my advanc'd Age renders it improbable that I should have an opportunity of satisfying any one of them;" apologizing that he is returning "so unfavourable an Answer to your Application."
