Part of a collection of telegrams and letters from J. Pierpont Morgan to Dr. William W. Baldwin between 1904 and 1910 (MA 8739.1-14). This collection is part of a much larger collection of letters to Dr. Baldwin from authors, English royalty and other luminaries of the period including Henry James, Samuel Clemens, William Dean Howells, Sarah Orne Jewett, Henry Cabot Lodge, Booth Tarkington, Edith Wharton and Constance Fenimore Woolson. Expressing his delight that "...you are through with the operation and are recovering so well. I shall be glad to see you, and shall be in Florence before many days. I do not exactly know when, as I shall probably stay a few days at Perugia on my way. Of course, in Florence I shall go to the Hotel de la Ville. From Florence I go to Aix."
