Summary
Arranging for the inclusion of poems by Gerard Manley Hopkins in Miles's anthology The poets and the poetry of the century ("I have got permission from Mr Hopkins family to send you a few of his poems with [a] short acct of him. I shall write not more than one page about him & send some 4 or 5 short poems. Will that do?); sending him "one of the most beautiful hymns I know. I have never been able to discover the author, but it first (as far as I know) appeared in the 2nd Ed. of 'Hymns & poems for the sick & suffering' edited by Thos Vincent Forbery Rivington London 1850"; with the text of a poem by Thomas Blackburne, transcribed with the title "An Easter hymn", on pages 3-4 of the letter.
