Sending her a volume of John Dalrymple's Memoirs containing the letters of Queen Mary, wondering where the original letters are currently located, and expressing her belief that they are "well worth reprinting"; also mentioning the book Memoirs of Mary, queen of England (1689-1693), edited by R. Doebner and published in 1886, a copy of which she has been unable to locate; sending her "the story that deals with your ancestors - I fear you may be a little disappointed in it - and the vol. of 'State Trials' which includes the trial of the wicked Lord Byron who must be the same one whose book plate is in your copy of Andrew Marvell."
