Summary
Concerning her production of his play Gruach, including his suggestion that she distribute printed programmes to the audience and her proposal that they introduce an "announcer" to the performance to serve as an opening chorus to "give some idea of the plot" and connection with Shakespeare's Macbeth' ("Dress her as a hoary old woman (The Oldest Woman in the County or something like that) and send her on with a yarn that all the men are at war, and all the women who to be doing thicey are clean mad acting men, and there's nobody left, so they'em haulied me out o' my warm bed ... to tell 'ee this is a play about the uneasy young woman who got into Shakespeare thru marrying Macbeth ...").
