Summary
Announcing the birth of his son (Robert Henry Bloomfield); his pleasure at Mr. G[ranville] Sharp's willingness to be the first subscriber to his brother Isaac's publication of his Six anthems; relating a humorous anecdote illustrating the old "custom of throwing an old shoe after a person setting off on a journey 'for luck'" concerning a woman named Moll Fuller who was allegedly struck in the back of the head with a nailed boot by her daughter ("a great rude mawther') with such force that she was "obidge'd to turn back to have the wound dressd!!!".
