Promising to send him a copy of "my little book"; noting that she has been correcting her play "The martyr" and attending to the helpful criticisms of the work offered by the recipient; goes on to assert that the modern ranks of missionaries and anyone who suffers for their faith share "the same predicament with the earliest Martyrs and deserve to share their glory"; mentions the woman martyr Rasalama (here misspelled "Rassamula") of Madagascar; concludes "The ardour with which you speak of the glory of Martyrdom goes to my heart. I honour every thing that is akin to it.".
