Summary
Concerning her pamphlet "A lesson intended for the use of the Hampstead School" and a previous offer on the part of the recipient to write a letter on its behalf, "I then declined your kind offer of writing to the Central Commettee, for leave to have the little Lesson regarding humanity to Animals read occasionally, by the Ladies who examine the Hampstead School, to the Children. But upon further consideration, I think I was wrong in doing so ... I should be very much obliged to you, then, if you would have the goodness to write as you proposed to the Committee, and without mentioning my name. It is enough for them to know that you, who are the Pastor of the Parish, do not disapprove of what is contained in the Lesson in question."
