Notes
John Lockwood Kipling lived in India from 1865 through 1893. He was commissioned from 1870-1872 to tour the Punjab, the North-West Frontier and Kashmir to make sketches of Indian craftsmen, sights and antiquities.
Signed "Rudyard Kipling" in pencil on the front pastedown.

Summary
An album of 25 caricature drawings, primarily of pencil, pen and wash, thirteen of which include text, a caption, a label or a speech bubble. Some of the drawings appear political in nature, one of which refers to Self-Rule for Assam and several refer to Naga Hills in the text or speech bubble. The drawings are described in individual records (MA 8718.1-25).
