Summary
Reporting that their orders to march that morning had been delayed based on intelligence from the Prince of Orange on French penetration; saying The Prince "has requested that the Duke may remain here a few days, as He dreads the Effect which His Change of Position may in the present Circumstances have upon the public in Holland, and the Confidence wh the Jacobin Party would acquire should the French penetrate into Zeeland. To this the Duke has consented;" crossing out the last part of the previous sentence which read "& altering Reconnaissance is now making towards Antwerp;" continuing "The Stadholder likewise wishes that a naval Force may be sent from England to protect Zeeland, but there does not appear to be the least disposition in the Country itself to make the smallest Disposition to save it by their own Efforts, & the Stadholder appears to have neither Spirit or power enough to inforce it. Their whole Reliance is on England, & their Expectations from thence form a striking Contrast with their own Inactivity."
