Summary
Expressing his hope that General Clerfayt's attack on the French was successful and reporting that the bombardment at Ypres appears to have ceased; commenting that "There is every probability that the Prussians will act in West Flanders. The Emperor was here a few Days since & went away to the Army of the Rhine the Day before Yesterday. The P. of Waldeck is sick & the P. of Coburg rather embarassé. If Clairfayt succeeds, Ypres will be saved & Courtray probably evacuated. This will not only advance our line of Defence, but shorten it."
